Getting started

What Reclaiva does, the free audit, the preview.

3 articles

What Reclaiva doesIt recovers failed subscription payments on Stripe, and proves how much it recovered on top of Stripe.

Every month, part of your subscription revenue is lost because a card payment fails: expired card, insufficient funds, a bank that refuses. Stripe retries a few times and sends a generic email. Part of that money is never recovered.

Reclaiva reads your Stripe account, spots each failed invoice, and sends your customer a short series of emails with a link to Stripe's own payment page. The customer pays on Stripe, like always.

What makes Reclaiva different: it leaves a small share of failed invoices untouched, so that it can measure what its emails bring in on top of what Stripe recovers alone. That is the number shown everywhere: the amount recovered on top thanks to Reclaiva. Measured, never estimated.

You start with a free audit, then a preview of what would be sent, and you only activate sending when you are ready.

The free 90-day auditConnect Stripe and see in about two minutes what you lost to failed payments, with no card and no commitment.

The audit is free and needs no card. You log in with your email, connect your Stripe account, and Reclaiva reads the last 90 days.

You then see, per currency: the revenue lost to failed payments, how much Stripe recovered on its own, the invoices that are still open and at risk today, and your current recovery rate.

The audit also lists billing leaks: coupons that never expire, subscriptions still on an old archived price, and subscriptions that have been past due for more than 30 days.

Every number comes from your own Stripe data. Nothing is extrapolated from industry averages.

Preview mode: nothing is sent without youAfter connecting, Reclaiva shows what it would send, to whom and when. You activate sending yourself.

A freshly connected account is in preview mode. Reclaiva detects failed invoices and prepares the emails, but sends nothing.

In the Preview page you see the queue: the recipient, the amount, the planned date and the email itself. This is where you check the wording and the timing before anything goes out.

When you are ready, click Activate sending. Reclaiva tells you how many customers would receive an email and asks you to confirm. Activating sending requires an active subscription or trial.

A Pause everything button stays visible at all times. Pausing stops every planned email immediately; you can resume whenever you want.

Stripe connection

One click or a restricted key, and how to revoke.

3 articles

Connect Stripe in one clickStripe shows Reclaiva, you approve, and the audit starts. Reclaiva only reads and never changes anything.

From the Connect page, click Connect with Stripe. Stripe opens its own authorization screen, shows Reclaiva, and asks you to approve the standard access of a Connect app. Approve, and you are back on Reclaiva with the audit running.

Reclaiva uses this access to read your invoices, customers, subscriptions, prices and coupons. It never changes anything in your account: no refund, no cancellation, no edit, ever. Payment always happens on Stripe's own hosted invoice page.

The access is stored encrypted, and you can revoke it at any time: from Reclaiva (Settings, then Disconnect) or from your Stripe Dashboard under Settings, Installed apps.

If you prefer that Stripe itself limits the access to reading, you can connect with a restricted key instead. See the article about restricted keys.

Connect with a read-only restricted keyAn alternative to the one-click connection: a key that Stripe itself limits to reading.

A restricted key is an API key you create in your Stripe Dashboard with precise permissions. For Reclaiva, every permission is set to Read, so Stripe blocks any write before it even reaches your account.

From the Connect page, choose Use a restricted key. The link opens your Stripe Dashboard with the right permissions already selected: Customers, Subscriptions, Invoices, Charges, Payment Intents, Coupons, Prices and Products in Read, everything else in None. Click Create key, copy it, and paste it in Reclaiva.

The key must start with rk_. A full secret key (starting with sk_) is rejected before any call. Reclaiva also tests the key: if it could write, it is refused; if a read permission is missing, Reclaiva names it.

To revoke it later, delete the key in your Stripe Dashboard under Developers, API keys. Reclaiva stops reading immediately.

Avoid duplicate emails from StripeTurn off Stripe's own failed-payment emails once Reclaiva sends; keep Smart Retries on.

Stripe can send its own email when a payment fails. If Reclaiva sends too, your customer gets two messages for the same invoice. Before you activate sending, turn off Stripe's email.

In your Stripe Dashboard: Settings, Billing, Subscriptions and emails. Disable the emails about failed payments. Keep Smart Retries enabled: they retry the card automatically and work together with Reclaiva's emails.

Reclaiva only sends on the invoices it handles, between 08:00 and 20:00 in your customer's timezone, and stops as soon as the invoice is paid, voided or marked uncollectible.

How we measure

The control group, what counts as recovered, the statement.

3 articles

The control group, explained simplyOut of 10 failed invoices, Reclaiva chases 9 and leaves 1 aside. The difference is your lift: measured, not estimated.

Out of 10 failed invoices, Reclaiva chases 9 and leaves 1 aside. What the 9 bring in on top of the 1 is your lift: measured, not estimated.

The invoice left aside, the control group, gets nothing from Reclaiva. Stripe still retries the card as usual, so it shows what happens without Reclaiva. The other invoices get the email sequence. Comparing the two recovery rates gives what Reclaiva actually adds.

The draw is random and fixed once and for all per invoice: the same invoice always lands in the same group. You choose the share in Settings: 10% (recommended, the measurement becomes reliable sooner) or 5%.

While the control group is still small (fewer than 20 invoices over 90 days), Reclaiva uses the recovery rate measured during your audit as the reference instead. Either way, the lift can never be negative: if Reclaiva adds nothing, the number is zero.

What counts as recoveredPaid within 30 days of the first failure, not refunded or disputed within 60 days, and not paid before Reclaiva acted.

An invoice counts as recovered when it is paid within 30 days after its first failed payment, and is neither refunded nor disputed within 60 days.

An invoice paid within 24 hours by Stripe's first automatic retry, before Reclaiva sent anything, is not counted: Reclaiva did nothing for it, so it never appears in the lift.

If a recovered invoice is later refunded or disputed within 60 days, it is removed and the amount is deducted from your next statement. You never pay for a recovery that did not hold.

Everything is checked against your own Stripe account: each line of the statement names the Stripe invoice, so you can verify it yourself.

The monthly statementOn the 1st of each month: one line per invoice, a CSV export, and 7 days to dispute any line.

On the 1st of each month, Reclaiva produces the statement for the previous month, per currency. At the top: the amount recovered on top thanks to Reclaiva, the Reclaiva recovery rate and the reference rate.

Below, one line per failed invoice: date of the failure, amount, group (Reclaiva or control), emails sent, payment date and status. You can export everything as CSV.

The statement stays open for review for 7 days. If a line looks wrong, dispute it from the statement itself; the founder checks it against Stripe and answers you.

Refunds and disputes from the previous 60 days appear as a deduction on the following statement.

Reminders and emails

Timing, wording, languages, AI drafts.

2 articles

The reminder emails: when, what, in which languageFour short emails over twelve days, adapted to the reason the card failed, in English, French or German.

When a payment fails, Reclaiva sends up to four emails: on the day of the failure, then 3, 7 and 12 days later (the last one is a final notice). Each email contains a link to Stripe's hosted invoice page, where the customer updates the card and pays.

The wording adapts to the reason given by the bank: insufficient funds, expired card, or a generic refusal. The emails are short and neutral, written in your company's name, with your support address as the reply address.

The language follows the customer's preferred language in Stripe: English, French or German, English by default. Emails go out between 08:00 and 20:00 in the customer's timezone.

The sequence stops by itself as soon as the invoice is paid, voided or marked uncollectible, if the subscription is cancelled, if the address bounces or complains, or if you pause the account.

AI-written emails for large amountsAbove a threshold you set, a personalised email is drafted for you. Nothing is sent until you approve it.

For invoices above the high-value threshold you set in Settings, Reclaiva does not use the standard template. It drafts a personalised email that takes into account how long the customer has been with you, the amount, and how many payments they have made successfully.

That draft waits in the To approve page. You read it, edit it if you like, and approve it with one click. Until then, nothing is sent. No AI-written email ever leaves without a human click.

The AI only receives what it needs to write: first name, amount, how long the customer has been a customer, and the number of successful payments. Never a card number, never your other customers' data.

Subscription and billing

Plans, the 7-day trial, cancelling.

Plans and pricesFive fixed-price plans by monthly revenue, from 99 CHF a month. Unlimited recovery, no commission.

Every plan is a fixed monthly price with unlimited recovery and no commission: you keep the whole lift. The plan depends on your monthly recurring revenue (MRR), which Reclaiva reads from Stripe to recommend one; you choose.

Starter, below 50,000 CHF of MRR: 99 CHF a month. Growth, 50,000 to 150,000: 290 CHF. Scale, 150,000 to 500,000: 790 CHF. Enterprise, 500,000 to 2 million: 2,500 CHF. Above 2 million, a custom contract on quote. EUR prices are the same figures; USD prices are about 10% higher.

Your plan follows your average MRR over the last three months. Moving up comes with 30 days' notice; moving down happens after three consecutive months below the band. You are billed in your Stripe account's main currency, by card, through Stripe.

The monthly statement keeps proving the lift against the control group, but it is never used to bill you.

The 7-day trial with a cardThe audit and the preview are free. To start sending, open a 7-day trial; nothing is charged before day 7.

The audit and the preview need no card. Sending real emails does: to activate sending, you open a 7-day trial on the plan you choose (at least the one recommended for your MRR), through Stripe Checkout.

The card is required at checkout, but nothing is charged for 7 days. Two days before the end, you get an email with the lift already measured and what will be charged. On day 7, Stripe bills the plan automatically.

You can cancel during the trial from the Stripe customer portal (Billing page) at no cost. There is one trial per account: an account that already had a trial or a subscription is billed right away.

Cancelling, and why there are no refundsCancel any time from the Stripe portal; it takes effect at the end of the current month. Months already billed are not refunded.

You can cancel at any time from the Billing page, which opens the Stripe customer portal. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the current month: no further charge, your account goes back to preview mode and the emails stop.

Months already billed are not refunded. The service is available from the first minute and the work (sequences, measurement, statements) is delivered continuously during the month, so there is nothing to give back. The terms say so explicitly.

The trial is the time to decide: cancelling during the 7 days costs nothing.

Security and data

Read-only access, hosting, retention.

Reclaiva never changes anything in your StripeReading only: no refund, no cancellation, no edit. Payment always happens on Stripe's own page.

Reclaiva only reads your Stripe account. It never creates, edits, refunds or cancels anything. When a customer pays, they do it on Stripe's hosted invoice page, exactly as if they had clicked a link from Stripe itself.

This holds for both ways of connecting. With the one-click connection, Reclaiva's code only contains read calls, the terms and the data processing agreement forbid any write, and every sensitive action is kept in an audit log. With a restricted key, Stripe itself limits the key to reading, on top of all that.

Invoices in the control group are never touched, not even read differently: no email, no action, ever.

You can close the door at any time: revoke the access from Reclaiva or from your Stripe Dashboard. Disconnecting deletes the data Reclaiva holds about that account.

What data is stored, where, and for how longInvoice details and customer emails, hosted in the EU, encrypted access, deleted when you disconnect. Never a card number.

To send reminders and measure the lift, Reclaiva keeps the invoices it reads (identifiers, amounts, currency, status, decline codes, hosted payment link), the customers concerned (name, email, country, language), and the subscriptions, prices and coupons. Never a card number: Stripe does not expose them.

Data is hosted in the European Union (database in Frankfurt), the application runs on Vercel, and emails go through Resend. Reclaiva is a Swiss company. Your Stripe access token is stored encrypted.

Stripe data is kept while your connection is active and deleted when you disconnect or delete your account. Sent emails and delivery events are kept 12 months; statements are kept 10 years as Swiss accounting law requires.

The privacy policy and the data processing agreement are on the Legal pages of the website.

Logging in, disconnecting, deleting.

Disconnecting Stripe and deleting your accountBoth are in Settings. Disconnecting erases the Stripe data; deleting erases everything, permanently.

Disconnect, in Settings: Reclaiva revokes its own access on Stripe's side, stops reading, and deletes everything it holds about that account: failed invoices, sequences, statements, audits. Sequences in progress stop immediately. Nothing changes in Stripe itself.

Delete my account, also in Settings: your profile, your Stripe connections and all recovery data are deleted permanently. There is no undo. If you have an active subscription, cancel it first from the Billing page.

To be sure on Stripe's side, check your Dashboard afterwards: Settings, Installed apps for the one-click connection, or Developers, API keys for a restricted key.
